I believe they all boil down to teachings of Respect. If we respect our Earth, how can we dirty the waterways or thicken the air with stinging smog or relentlessly and inhumanely slaughter animals? If we respect one another, how can we stand by and watch as the less fortunate of us struggle to feed our children or provide them with medical care?
But it's even so much more than simply respecting one another...it's embracing one another. It's actually celebrating the mulitude of differences between us. I realize many people use the argument that we are all so much more alike than different, we shouldn't fight. But I say, let's not think of ourselves as a melting pot. Did you ever see what happens to a box of crayons when melted? Yes, they all become one, but why do we have to 'become one' in order to respect all? I like to think of us as a salad bowl instead. There's nothing more inviting looking and delicious tasting than a huge colorful bowl of fresh vegetables or fruit!
I do believe that those of us who love Michael, his disciples, followers, fans, relish the differences. We embrace the many to love as one! How boring if every flower in the garden was the same color and had the same scent, right? We are each one of us flowers, growing in the garden, reaching for the sun(flower!)
